has the pier been positively identified? [a big one burnt down yesterday at weston-super-mare].great video. i'd forgotten how good the bachelors were. there's so much vulgarity and profanity in the charts (and on youtube :) )nowadays that it's refreshing to find some truly entertaining music.bachelors were on radio yesterday.type "bbc front row" into google; click `listen again` for monday (programme online for 7 days).promoting new CD The Very Best of the Bachelors

Thanks for comment, cgarcoa. My name has been a legend in out family because my Mom and Dad got married soon after he was discharged from the Army. Your Dad was a musician too. Not surprising I guess. I'm so sorry you didn't know him. So you spell your name with a 'g'. A lot of times people try to put a 'g' in my name too.

boomers66..Hi my name is Charmagne, and I too was named after the song. It was my dad's favorite to play on the piano and he died at 36 years old, 3 weeks before I was born. So in his memory , I was named Charmagne instead of Jeanette. I was the first in Middlesex county New Jersey

Oops. The link didn't post. Search on youtube for the silent film "What Price Glory." It's a hoot.

Follow the link below to see a trailer from the 1926 silent film. There is a shot of Ms. De la Cognac herself, played by actress Delores Del Rio.

My real name is Charmaine and, hold on you young kids, I am 60 years old. I was named after the song. It was written in 1926 for a silent picture, What Price Glory. The character in the movie was a barmaid, Charmaine de la Cognac. My dad is an organist and was stationed in England during WWII. His talent put him in special services and he did a lot of entertaining. Charmaine was his "signature song".

My real name is Charmaine, it is my first to hear this song though I am aware that there is a song about my name. Glad to hear it, I wish that someone will sing this one to match our music style for this year. I can't sing a song dedicated to myself... hope someone can. There are numerous songs offered to other names like beatles known originals.
